So not only The Proclaimers can sing and record an album with a Scottish accent (and the odd Scots word), Karine Polwart can do the same. She was on Tom Robinson's Evening Sequence (presented by Paul Anderson this week) on BBC 6 Music yesterday.
Singer songwriter folk indie acoustic style music, you can get samples on her website and her MySpace page. Quite nice music, I'm thinking about buying her album. Oh, and she can play and sing live, the songs she played live on BBC 6 yesterday sounded almost as good as the studio recordings. I like it when musicians can perform without all the studio trickery. If you're quick enough you can still hear it (and her lovely Scottish accent) on Listen again, you can even learn a Scots word: Swithering.
That's all for now, I'm tired and need to get to bed after the rain and thunder woke me up at 4:30 this morning...
