Yesterday evening I completed the last page, after some other last fixes the WalkIslay 2005 Travelogue is now complete. It took longer than I had hoped, but at last it's done now. The last two pages I added are from the ferry to Kennacraig and a QuickTime VR panorama of a view over Loch Lomond and Ben Lomond.
65 images and 6 QuickTime VR panoramas on 15 pages, not bad for 9 days (of which two were so wet that I didn't take many pictures). I might have spent a little bit too much time trying to get the panoramas right, some turned out as I wanted them, some I'm not entirely happy with but couldn't get them any better. While they can't replace being there (Join in next year and come to WalkIslay 2006, I'll post the dates here as soon as Ian confirms them) I think the pictures and panoramas give a good impression of Islay, Jura and the walks. What they don't show is all the nice conversations and how friendly the people on Islay are. You'll have to visit yourself to experience it.
While I was working on the last page I found some other nice pictures from Islay: Jeanne Panek travels to Islay to visit the Fletcher family of Persabus (if I read this correctly they are related). In particular she has some pictures I didn't take (as I didn't have my camera with me then): Arra Fletcher working at Persabus Pottery.
