Catching up
I've been busy with all kind of things this weekend (tidying the mess of my desk, answering lots of overdue e-mails, drinking copious amounts of tea and eating scones with clotted cream, filling in insurance claims, being disappointed with Celtic losing their 100% home record, installing a new Bayes Filter for The Bat!, those kind of things), which meant I couldn't be bothered to blog. Time to catch up again and post a few more links:
- The TractorGirl has moved and is now wearing pink socks. Update your bookmarks.
- Pete has fun with the GEZ, the German version of TV Licensing (No, the TV Licensing Officer still hasn't been here).
- Matthew had a great weekend in Ostfriesland, enjoying Friesisch-Herbes Jever and "Schollenfilet mit Krabben". I'm jealous. I need to ask my mother if there's a way she can bring some Granat when she comes over in a few weeks.
- SecurityFocus has an interesting read about security risks through Google and careless webmasters (no, it's not Google's fault)
- DarwinMag explains how to Turn Down the Loud Speakers on Cell Phones (that's mobile phones for us here in the UK, but the rest is probably the same ;-))
- Also in DarwinMag: The Value of Thinking. Something a lot of people probably should spend more time on.
- Haven't been able to find it at Amazon.co.uk yet, but to me this CD sounds interesting.
- Some interesting pictures and a travelogue from a trek through the Isle of Skye, Scotland
- Never oversleep again: Sonic Alert has the Sonic Boom Alarm (scroll down for the best models) with a three-prong assault on your sleep: Alarm (100+ db), flashing lights and a mattress vibrator/shaker. (found in the dead tree edition of Business 2.0)
