Busy
After a much too long break I've started working on the Scotland Summer 2005 travelogue again. Yesterday evening I finished the page about the walk to the Old Man of Stoer (including action pictures of a very low flying helicopter), this morning I started working on the Sandwood Bay page. Working through the pictures for 24 panoramas (of which probably only 3-4, including 2 QTVR panoramas, will survive) took me most of today. Meaning I didn't have much time for blogging today and probably won't have much time tomorrow. To keep you busy while I'm busy here's a bunch of links for your perusal:
- I have no idea how I stumbled over this site, but for a funny collection of wedding decoration and fashion disasters you can try Bio of Shame. Just don't visit the Cringe Worthy Cakes And Toppers page before dinner.
- I wasn't exactly overwhelmed by Google's Blogsearch, but then neither is BusinessWeek. Looks like I'll stick with Technorati for the time being, despite all the criticism heaped on them recently. At least the worst performance problems seem to be over now.
- One of the best Firefox extensions I found recently: MinimizeToTray (MS Windows only). Very helpful!
- Fishing doesn't appeal to me, but if it does to you fishing on Jura and Islay might appeal to you. If you don't catch anything at least it isn't far to the whisky.
- Quick update on two earlier posts: The Royal Navy has finally picked up the Yellow Submarine they lost near Islay two months ago.
- I guess I'm too old to be an Internet Ranger. But then my mother is already online anyway. As long as it helps to bring the generations together and increases kids confidence...
- I think this one was via Nothing To Do With Arbroath (a great blog for weird and wonderful stuff!): The Bible, translated into Glaswegian (continued in Part 2)
- Hm, should I really be ahead of a trend for a change? I started drinking real ale about 1.5 years ago, now I read Real ale drinkers 'on the rise'. And more and more often I can enjoy it with a good meal.
- Considering the recent oil price hikes an interesting read about renewable energy on Unst, Gigha, Islay and Jura. Still way to go though.
Will that do for now? (Yeah, that'll do. It's bedtime anyway. Ed.)
