Time for a few more Islay updates and news. First of all the WalkIslay 2005 travelogue is making some progress: Yesterday I completed the page for the RSPB Loch Gruinart walk as well as a QuickTime VR panorama of a view over Loch Gruinart. This morning I kicked off the page for our walk from Kilchoman to Kilchiaran (and a panorama is probably also going to come). Second a bunch of Islay related links:
Let's start with some good feedback for Islay Ales: The Bagger visited the Island Ale Festival and sampled some Saligo Ale. He liked it (and I thoroughly agree).
Well, not one with people in it, but John Baker from Port Ellen nets a submarine near the Mull of Oa. He probably would have prefered some lobster...
Kind of linked to the WalkIslay 2005 travelogue, as our last walk also took us to the Wavegen Power Station near Portnahaven: Wavegen has been bought by Voith Siemens Hydro (also at the BBC: Buyout saves wave power company. While a very good idea (I think) the station is not undisputed and without problems. Apparently it can be quite noisy and therefore disturbing to local residents, also the grid infrastructure is not right for it at the moment.
That's all for now, time to get out into the sun.
