Another Dream House
A few months ago I mentioned a dream house on Islay. A few days ago I was sent the link to another dream house by the current owner, Hans van Kessel: The Artists Cottage (for some reason the navigation doesn't work in Mozilla, but for such a fantastic house I even start IE). This one isn't on Islay, but near Inverness. What makes it special is that is was built based on designs by Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
I hope I can visit it some day, for now the website and the mentions in some of my books must be sufficient. If you're interested, you can find more in The Mackintosh Style by Elizabeth Wilhide (page 152-153) and Charles Rennie Mackintosh : Architect, Artist, Icon by John McKean & Colin Baxter (page 40-42).
And in the unlikely (not to say impossible) event of me winning the lottery or inheriting from a previously unknown rich American uncle I would aim for a combination of the two in regards to style and location. I assume you can guess which location and which style.
