Catching up
Apart from the odd quick e-mail check (and deleting some spam out of the guestbook on one of my sites) I've been offline for the last two weeks, time to catch up on a few things. Here are a few things I found interesting so far:
- The government just published their booklet/website Preparing for Emergencies (although I haven't received my booklet yet), but the pranksters are already all over it (via www.copperblue.co.uk). One shouldn't really joke about serious issues like this, but then again, with sentences like
If a bomb goes off in your building, look for the safest way out.
it is difficult not to. Look for the safest way out? Who would have thought? But then again, may be we have become complacent? - On a similar note, Bruce Schneier questions the weird idea of the Houston Airport Rangers. Neighbourhood watch gone wild?
- Ralf has moved. The Cartoonist now has a new home. Upmark your bookdates.
- Volker Weber has just returned from Scotland as well (he was there almost exactly the same time as me, but further north). He also took quite a few pictures.
- I added this to my bookmarks just before I left, quite fitting for the holiday period: Personal Time. Even the workoholic Americans are waking up to it.
