Blog referrer spamming?

Something strange is going on. Over the last few days I noticed quite a few blogs in my referrers, but when I went to them I couldn't find any links to any of my sites. A few examples (no links on purpose, I'll get back to why later):

There is something interesting about these blogs: The links in every single one of them are Javascript links. The links and referrers displayed on the sites change with every refresh. And every single one has a link like this in them (replace example with the respective domain):

<a href="http://www.example.com/adult-webcam/"><img src="/adult-webcam.gif" width="78" height="24" border="0"></a>

This looks like some elaborate attempt to manipulate page ranks in Google to me. A lot of fake blogs linking to some adult site (if you go to the link mentioned above you are redirected to an adult site). As a lot of blogs display recent referrers I guess the idea is to generate more links to these sites (which is why I'm not linking to them). Amazing to which lengths some spammers and search engine optimisers go nowadays.

Anyone else noticed this in their referrers?
