Back from Greece

I'm back. Still a wee bit tired after a late evening arrival yesterday.

The conference I attended was very good, but as I had expected I didn't see much of Athens. We stayed at the Sofitel Athens right next to the airport, which was also the conference venue. The hotel was very good (but also expensive) with excellent facilities. Only the fitness room was a bit underequipped, one running machine and one fitness bike are not enough if several people want to exercise at the same time. We had a few dinners offsite, driving there was interesting: All the roads from the airport to anywhere in Athens seem to be under construction at the moment in preparation for the Athens 2004 Olympics. I have no idea how they plan to finish it all in time, there's so much going on.

Athens International Airport currently offers free wireless Internet access at some of the gates, so I was able to do some of my e-mail logging on to our network via VPN. Quite impressive, I'm now even more convinced that WiFi is the future.

Now it's time to get back to some proper blogging ;-)
