Interest rate cut

The Bank of England has cut the interest rates. I guess my bank will now immediately cut the rate for my savings account, while the rates for mortgages won't be changed for a while. Or is that just the cynic in me?

No, this is exactly how it is. And I still don't understand why it takes at least 5 days for cheques to clear.
