Columbia and the media

As I don't have a TV I escape some of it, but Russell Beattie sums it up. I don't think I can add much, if anything.

I saw a woman on CNN this morning telling the interviewer how she had made her children come and watch the news coverage of this event because it was "history in the making".

I wanted to ask her if she would do the same when TV stations start showing pictures of her President bombing Iraq. Somehow, I think that might have more of an effect on the future of the world than what is -- with all due respect to those directly affected by the tragedy -- an overblown car crash.
