After cleaning my kitchen this morning I decided to get it dirty again this afternoon and made some bread. It was a variation of the old favourite wholemeal soda bread:
Last week I made it with sunflower seeds and sesame seeds, this week I decided to try it with sunflower seeds and poppy seeds. I used four tablespoons of sunflower seeds and 2 tablespoons of poppy seeds for the dough, another tablespoon of poppy seeds was sprinkled over the loaf before I put it into the oven (you can see the poppy seeds quite well in the picture).
It turned out very nice, I just had some with a nice cup of tea. I think I'll make this variation again some time. Next weekend I'm hoping to try something from the Baker's Tale by Catherine Brown and James Burgess though, if it turns out well I'll blog about it. If it turns into a disaster I might not mention it.
