Keeping with the Christmas theme: A few days ago I mentioned the German Christmas market in Glasgow. When I went there I had some Glühwein and also ate some Bratwurst. I think there was also Spanferkel available somewhere. Not to forget Holzspielzeug and various other crafts.
I've just found that the exchange goes both ways:
Margaret Marks just posted a few pictures of the Glasgow Christmas stall at the Christkindlesmarkt in Nürnberg/Germany. It seems they sell shortbread and various preserves. Haggis was also on offer, although they ran out. Must have been quite popular then. And most importantly they also brought some whisky. No, not from Glasgow (even though there are distilleries in/near Glasgow), but from, yes, you guessed right, from Islay. Good choice!
