McWiFi

Let's hope the connection will better than their burgers: BT to install WiFi at McDonalds. But will it be a success?

I can imagine using it at a hotel. I have used it at an airport during a stopover. I have used it at Starbucks (The one at George Street/Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow is quite nice, not too crowded). I can imagine using it in a pub, provided the pub is not too crowded. Yes, I can imagine sitting there for an hour surfing the web and getting up to speed on what happening in the world.

But at a grubby McDonald, screaming kids around me, having to worry that someone will pour their xxxx-large coke over my laptop or drop their triple-burger with quadruple cheese on my keyboard? I think I would survive for 15 minutes max. And that's before even touching the food.
